I’m interested in exploring the connections between artistic practice and everyday life. I’m fascinated by music and sound’s capacity to capture personal histories while also speaking to wider society.

I’ve evolved an ‘appliqué’ compositional method that incorporates elements of my mixed (British-Greek) cultural heritage; influences include Balkan peasant music, Orthodox chant, western popular culture and more. My works often respond to immediate social concerns—most recently, the climate crisis and the covid pandemic.

In my role as 2022/23 Associate Artist at An Tobar and Mull Theatre, I’m collaborating with weavers and musicians to create compositions inspired by the textures and patterns of woven fabric and the Hebridean landscape.

This website is about my work as a composer, sound artist and writer. The news and notebook sections are updated fairly regularly and cover a range of projects I’m working on and things I’m doing and thinking about. You can also find examples of past work and information about current and forthcoming projects, including information about my contemporary opera ensemble KOPCO.
